Kelencia received her visa as of 8:00 am this morning! We just have to go back and pick it up at the US Embassy at 2:00 pm. Almost unheard of on the same day.
I went to the appointment with Ke's Mom. Mallery decided it was best that only her mother and Ke go with me. She was fearful of her youth,( so goes being old), not returning Rosie 3 years ago, and being denied repeatedly in the past. Sometimes she couldn't even get past the gate. Or they had some ridiculous reason for denial like telling her she should of brought along someone who they would not admit into the Embassy.
The only thing they asked was our phone numbers. The processing of our papers took a while and I was worried we were being denied. Shortly, a security guard directed us past at least 35 people in line to a window where we were met by an American. She was very nice and told us we were good to go. I thanked her profusely.
Best case scenario was being done at 10:00 am, worst case was sitting there all day until 4:00 pm and being denied. Done in an hour and a half NEVER! Mallery still has some social work papers to get through, but basically a formality. She and Frentz will bring her back with them when they return to the States later this month.
I am walking on a cloud. Thank you all for your prayers! We certainly felt them all throughout the process. Now pray as I have to return for safety. Just heard that Brazil lost to the Netherlands in soccer. They are diehard fans here and this is not good.
Will keep you posted.
Love, Kim
